Privacy policy

This policy describes how Should I Buy or Not? handles data. It’s a template for a real deployment — adapt it to your jurisdiction and legal advice before production use.

What we collect

• Analysis inputs you provide (product details, budget, preferences) to produce a verdict. Anonymous analysis works without an account.
• Account data (email, hashed password) if you choose to sign up.
• Minimal operational logs. We avoid logging sensitive personal content and never log passwords, session tokens, or API keys. IP addresses used for rate limiting are hashed.

How we use it

• To generate and store your analyses, saved decisions, and price alerts.
• To prevent abuse (rate limiting) and improve the service.
• To send emails you request (price alerts, newsletter) — only if you opt in.

Your rights

• Export your saved decisions from your profile.
• Delete your account and associated data at any time.
• Unsubscribe from emails via any email footer or your profile.

Third parties

We use an AI provider (Anthropic by default, OpenAI optionally) to generate explanations, and optionally an email provider (Resend) for alerts. We share only what’s needed to provide the feature and never sell personal data.
